Graduating

After 7-ish years, I am FINALLY graduating with my Bachelor’s degree. It hasn’t quite hit me yet that I don’t have to worry about scheduling classes or studying for exams (unless I go to grad school, but that’s not happening for a while).

I’m very torn in how to feel about graduating and going off into “the real world”. I’ve been working since I was a teenager, but now I’ll be a full time employee. I can go home after work and do absolutely nothing. I’ll be making money for bills and student loan payments (ugh) but also to explore some hobbies.

I’ll miss seeing my college friends almost every day, and all of the social events I was able to enjoy. But, that won’t stop after graduation. It just means more effort will have to be exerted to stay in touch and get involved, but it’s worth it, right?

I’m excited and terrified to start this new journey ahead of me. It’s going to be difficult, but also enjoyable.Bring it on.

I am so incredibly proud of this lady.  She has fought through so much.  I can’t wait to see what the future brings for her.  Blessings.

Besties

I spent time with my besties this past weekend. It has become an annual event as we have been attending Market Days in Tallahassee together now for five years.  That seems crazy to me.

This year there was rain, a ton of rain, but we were able to be inside for the major downpours.

It was still a lot of fun, and although none of us was shopping for anything specific, we all found lots of wonderful things.

We went to Hobby Lobby as well (once the shopping was done at Market Days). That place was nuts!! Apparently it was half price on all Christmas…well…Nuts!  We got supplies to make the Christmas Cork Trees.  I am so excited about these trees!  That will be in another post.

We had a ball together, and was able to make the Christmas Soldiers.  But it is the time spent just being able to chat, and encourage one another that is so special to me.  These girl friends are like family to me.  I so cherish our time together.

Who do you choose to be with?  What would you change about the time spent if you could?

Blessings.

David’s Episode

This link will take you to YouTube Channel.

David talked about his experience, and after seeing the episode, I feel like I need to have an intervention over my facial expressions! Ha.  Oh well.  It is who I am, and they did well with editing.  I didn’t know what to do with my hands!

Now we wait on the check to arrive (they mail it 30 days after the show airs), and then to pay the IRS.  We have a lot of bills to pay from when we got behind in life.  This will so help us crawl out of that hole.

I am feeling incredibly blessed with this man (and my family).  I am so very proud to be his wife, and share in this amazing adventure together.  We both have a great jobs, and a roof (although it needs to replaced) over our heads.  We are doing well.  This is such a bonus.

Feeling extremely grateful.

Millionaire

Back in June, WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE  held open auditions in Pensacola.  David took the test, and we went home.  After several skype interviews, and emails back and forth with producers, he finally got the call to go to Las Vegas for the taping of the  show in August.  We flew out and had a great time.  It ended up being over our wedding anniversary, and birthdays (our wedding anniversary is August 20, David’s birthday is August 21, and my birthday is August 22).  082018G_David_Chancellor_ _15

To quote my hubby:  “I played the game I wanted to play.”

082018G_David_Chancellor_ _09The show airs tonight (November 15) on WEAR-TV abc3 in the Mobile/Pensacola area.  Per legal, we can’t say anything until the show airs…so everyone will have to watch to see how David did.  But I have to say we met some amazing people from other contantests to staff and producers from the show that will always have a special place in our hearts.  It was an amazing experience.

Help–Hurricane Michael

I live in the Panhandle of Florida, approximately 75 miles from where Hurricane Michael devastated Mexico Beach, and Panama City.  Other much smaller communities were destroyed as well but aren’t talked about right now.

I have posted pictures of my family and I having fun, with no damage.  It so could have been us if the storm hadn’t turn.  We were blessed by a cold front coming from the North, that’s it.  We are helping by donating items that we purchased for the storm and didn’t use.  If you feel the need to help but don’t know where to start please see below.  If nothing else, please pray for those affected and those helping.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office

Many of us are being contacted by family, friends, church groups and community members wanting to do something to help in regard to Hurricane Michael.

On a consolidated effort we are recommending Volunteer Florida. They are located in Tallahassee and are the lead agency for volunteerism in Florida. Their board of commissioners are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate.

They can be reached at www.volunteerflorida.org info@volunteerflorida.org   https://www.facebook.com/VolunteerFlorida and 850-414-7400.  If you go to their website, you initially have 2 options, “donate” money or “volunteer” to choose from. Those links will take you to other pages to fill in information.

There are a lot of people that want to deliver supplies. For law enforcement, public safety, emergency workers, residents, animals, etc. We are trying to determine needs, the receiving point and coordinator for those efforts. It’s a huge effort and could sometimes cause significant logistical complications on site, and please don’t recommend anyone just head that way without coordination. They may arrive and not be allowed to enter the area, nowhere to deliver and the community doesn’t know it’s there to collect.

Blessings.
