No matter the circumstances or the time that passes these two have been amazing…always there, always loving and supportive.
I wish I lived closer…I wish I could be there for all of the important moments. I don’t. But…it doesn’t matter. We are always there when we need each other, regardless the circumstances.
Love knows no boundaries…and these two prove that.
Traveling to NW Arkansas for a memorial service, and it has been thirteen years since Carmen was here.
This was a wonderful moment in our travels yesterday. Twelve hours in a car, to attend a service for essentially my little brother has been difficult to say the least.
He would be turning 50 the 24th of this month. Far to young to be gone. Tony was fun, engaging, strong minded, mean, and loving. I will miss him something fierce.
We were out of touch for about fifteen years, but have been talking every couple of weeks recently.
Life is short. I am grateful I knew him and that he was a part of my life.
See you on the other side cowboy. I love you.
(Copied from Facebook last year – not sure who originated the post.)
On this day… 18 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work the next morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today, tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.
Please take a moment of silence to remember those who fought and lost their lives for our country.
May the 4th be with you…
This wasn’t going to be my post today, but after the actor that portrayed Chewey, Peter Mayhew. passed away on May 1st, I had to change it.
Yes I know that this is at Disney, and that this isn’t the actual character, but…I was in awe and blown away by the experience. It was like I was chatting with Chewey (of course), but really though! I was overwhelmed. This was an amazing experience, and I am so happy that I was able to experience it.It was wonderful. Truly awesome, and a memorable experience. I have loved the Star Wars movies, and most of the characters since I was twelve.
By the way, I hate the way I look in the pictures. I have had about thirty pounds of regain, and it shows. Ugh.
NaBloPoMo 2012 – Day 18
Do you feel the magic? What? The magic of Disney!
Carmen and I love Walt Disney World in Orlando. We want to go again. I don’t think Stephen wants to go again. He wants to do Universal (and so does Carmen). I think there is something to do with Harry Potter there. But David is in Bagram and it will be a while before we go again. And we have gone since these photos were taken, but I thought I would go down memory lane and take you with me. All of these photos are from our July 2008 trip.
David and I at the Boardwalk.
David, Carmen and Stephen with their carnival wins.
At Cinderella’s Castle breakfast. I love this photo.
Not strong enough.
Nope, David can’t do it either.
The rest are our attempts at making fish faces.
David’s blow fish.
Carmen kept making herself giggle.
I love this part of vacations. Just being silly. Happy memories. Although, I am ready to feel the magic again – very soon!
