Football

And so it begins:  SEC Football.

There are lots of lions and tigers and bears but only one Razorback.  Tusk is our one-of-a-kind mascot.  Wooo Pig Sooie isn’t just a hog call.  It’s The Hog Call.  There’s no place like Fayetteville on game day.  When you hear the Razorback Band play Arkansas Fight Song…

…and see the Razorbacks run through the “A” in Reynolds Razorback Stadium…

There’ll be no doubt about it.  THIS IS ARKANSAS FOOTBALL.

Southern Girls and Football

NaBloPoMo 2012 – Day 10

I live in the panhandle of Florida in between Pensacola and Panama City.  Some people call it South Alabama, but I don’t.

But we are part of South East Conference in college football.  I say this because everyone here is a fan of either Florida, Alabama, Auburn (lots of those) or LSU.  I am a lonely girl by liking Arkansas.  I was raised twelve miles souteast from the University of Arkansas, and went there some.  (Partied there, more than anything.)

So, as far as I am concerned, Fall is football season.  We look forward to this time of year more than most. Which in itself really insane.  But most of the SEC fans are insane.  We have to be to do what we do on game days, or during the season.

My wonderful hubby is an alumni from LSU, and LSU and UofA (Arkansas not Alabama) have a game at the end of the season called the Boot Game.  I love it. We have more fun cheering on our teams. Hurts most of the time (especially this season), but we love each other and football.

Southern girls and football  I found this picture (quote) on Pinterest, and it is truth.

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

SEC Football

Life seems back to normal around here.  Fall is in the air.  Not really, but it seems that way since football has begun.  My family is divided in teams.  I am an Arkansas Razorback girl.  David is a graduate from LSU, hence he is a fan of the tigers.  Carmen was a little razorback, then LSU (all because we saw a game), and Stephen is a razorback but really doesn’t like football .Talk is cheap when it comes to football,  but in the SEC we talk big.  Whether you bleed in purple and gold, red and white, orange and blue…enjoy the game. Spend time with family and friends.

And Go Hogs!
This was taken in November of 2007.  We, as a divided family,
attended the Boot Game (Arkansas and LSU).
A very tiny Stephen proudly wearing piggie…with his Mom.
David and Carmen wearing LSU – hrumpf.
David NOT happy with the ending score.
ARK 50 to LSU 48 in 7 overtimes!  Long day but a lot of fun!
Hope you are enjoying your football time.
